The Declared Area
A declared area is decided on a project by project basis, to include the area where new infrastructure is to be provided and the area directly benefiting from this investment. It also takes into account existing and future land use patterns and areas for redevelopment.
Central Dandenong was declared on 26th September 2005 and is the first project to be initiated using the VicUrban Act to drive development
