Station Precinct

The Station Precinct improvements are designed to reposition the area surrounding Dandenong Station.

Works in the Station Precinct include the construction of a new public plaza directly to the north of the station and bus interchange, connecting the station to City Street and Foster Street, taking visitors into central Dandenong.

The plaza will create a new public meeting and event space for residents, workers and visitors in the western part of the city centre. It will create opportunities for businesses and restaurants to border the plaza and for events and festivals to take place within it. New development opportunities for residential, offices, education facilities and retail will also be created in and adjoining the Station Precinct.

An arrival / departure plaza is proposed for the south side of the Station, linking through to Metro Village 3175, Dandenong South and the Dandenong Creek shared pathway. The Station Precinct improvements relate to the areas surrounding Dandenong Station and not the Station itself.

Station Precinct features:

• A new public plaza linking the Station to City Street and Foster Street
• Safe and convenient drop off and pick up area for public transport travellers, buses and taxis
• Public plaza with shade, beauty, public enjoyment, events and festivals to attract people
• Seating areas to rest and meet people
• Lighting to promote safety
