The first section of work, to install curbs on the northern side of Walker Street is now complete.
Paving on the northern side of George Street, between Cadle and Robinson Street, has commenced. This section of work showcases some of the features that will be visible along the upgraded George and Walker streets by late 2010.
Once complete, these works will see the realignment of George Street, enabling a smooth flow into Walker Street for pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles accessing Dandenong from the under construction George Street Bridge.

VicUrban's Development Director, Michael King, said these works will create a new western entry into Dandenong.
“The improvements to George and Walker streets, combined with George Street Bridge will make it easier for more people to walk, ride, catch a bus or drive into the heart of Dandenong.”
“Walker Street will become a great street and destination in its own right. In addition to the street improvements, people can now see Grocon's large crane working on the Street's first major new building; the Government Services Building,” Mr King said.
VicUrban's Trader Engagement Manager, Jason Craig, is continuing to liaise with Walker Street businesses to keep them informed of work schedules.
The bulk of work on Dandenong's new western entrance is expected to be completed by late 2010.
Regular updates will be available at www.revitalsingcentraldandenong.com and anybody with questions about the works can contact the Revitalising Central Dandenong One Stop Shop on 03 8317 3566.
